Egyptian court resumes trial of ten suspects accused of communicating with Islamic State terrorists in Libya
The First Unit of the Egyptian Criminal Court resumed the trial of ten defendants in the case of communicating with ISIS in Libya.
Egyptian media said the session was held at the Tora Courts Complex, headed by Counselor Mohamed Sherine Fahmy, with the membership of advisers Raafat Zaki and Tariq Mahmoud, and in the presence of Hamdi Al-Shennawi, Secretary-General of the Tora Mission, in addition to the Secretariat, Tariq Fathi.
It is noteworthy that the Egyptian Public Prosecution had previously referred ten defendants, including four Libyans, to the Emergency Supreme State Security Criminal Court, in accusations against them of collaborating with the terrorist organization “ISIS” and those working for it in Libya; with the aim of committing terrorist crimes against resident Egyptian citizens.
The crimes occurred by kidnapping and torturing Egyptian citizens to obtain ransom money from their relatives; in exchange for their release.
