Turkish police detained 14 ISIS terrorists in Istanbul
Simultaneous counterterrorism operations conducted across nine districts of Turkey’s Istanbul early Friday morning resulted in the capture of 14 suspected ISIS terrorists, 13 of whom were foreign nationals.
The suspects were taken to the Istanbul Police Directorate for questioning. During the raids, organizational documents and digital materials were seized.
The suspects are accused of being members of the terrorist organization Daesh and plotting a terror act.
Operations targeting suspects believed to be members of the Daesh terrorist organization plotting a terror attack are ongoing.
More than 300 people have lost their lives in Daesh attacks in Turkey so far, where the terrorist organization has targeted civilians in suicide bombs, rocket and gun attacks.
Turkish security forces have been involved in a long-running campaign to thwart Daesh attacks.
