Female war correspondent covering the war against ISIS killed in western Iraq
A female war correspondent who was covering the confrontations between the Iranian-backed militias and the remaining elements of the Islamic State in western Iraq, was killed in a crossfire on Thursday.
The journalist, identified as Raana Ajili, was working for Hashd al-Shaabi’s war media cell, the militia group confirmed.
She was caught in a crossfire in Qa’im district, Iraq’s western province of Anbar.
Hashd al-Shaabi said in an official statement that a cameraman accompanying Ajili was also injured in the incident.
