Clashes erupt between Islamic State terrorists and the National Defence Forces in the wake of kidnapping four persons
Syrian Observatory sources say that fierce clashes with machineguns, erupted this morning between the regime-backed “National Defence Forces” (NDF) and unknown gunmen, but believed to be ISIS members, in Jib Abyad village in the eastern countryside of Hama.
According to SOHR sources, the clashes come in the wake of kidnapping four persons from Abu Laffah village in the same countryside. One of the kidnapped managed to escape and informed the NDF of the place and location where the rest of kidnapping people were being held.
It is worth noting that ISIS resurgence has been continuing in the Syrian desert since March 2019. However, “Islamic State” stepped up its operations and attacks in the past few weeks.
SOHR sources reported on August 2 that the number of fatalities among NDF has risen to four, in addition to the injury of others, in ISIS attack in the previous day on positions of regime forces and the “National Defence Forces” (NDF) nearby “Al-Kharratah” oil field in the southern sector of Deir Ezzor province.
At that time, fierce clashes lasted for hours, regime forces sent large military reinforcement later to the area.
