Over 100 Christians remain in ISIS captivity
The fate of more than 100 Christians whom were abducted by the Islamic State (IS), remains unknown up to the moment, said a Christian lawmaker.
“Since 2014, only 15 Christian abductees have been freed from the grip of Daesh,” said MP Kamal Yalda, using an Arabic acronym for the Islamic State.
He confirmed in a statement to BasNews that they have documented every detail about the IS atrocities against Christians, 100 of whom are still missing.
The Christian population of Nineveh plains is about 130,000. They were all displaced from their homes after IS overrun northern Iraq in mid-2014.
Yalda said that only the areas protected by the Kurdish Peshmerga forces have witnessed the return of its Christian indigenous population.
