ISIS arrests senior member on charges of disclosing news about Baghdadi’s death
ISIS has arrested a senior aide for Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the terrorist group’s ring leader, on charges of his implied reference to al-Baghdadi’s death, a local source confirmed.
The source said that ISIL terrorists stormed the house of Friday Prayers leader in the town of Tal Afar Abu Qatibeh and arrested him over his remarks about the fate of al-Baghdadi on Friday.
“ISIL members laid siege on the house of Abu Qatibeh, who is a close friend to al-Baghdadi, and arrested him. Abu Qatibeh did not resist against arrest,” the source said.
“Abu Qatibeh’s arrest was done one day after he implied al-Baghdadi’s death, causing vast arguments among ISIL members about their leader’s fate,” the source went on to say.
The source went on to say that the ISIL has kept mum on the fate of Baghdadi and it has not thus far rejected his death in an airstrike in Syria a few weeks ago, adding that ISIL’s silence about the death of al-Baghdadi is perhaps related to the decision about his successor.
Local sources in Nineveh province in Northwestern Iraq reported on Saturday that a close friend of and an aide to ISIL Leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi indirectly confirmed death of the terrorist group’s ring leader.
The Arabic-language al-Sumeriyeh news quoted the local sources as saying that Abu Qatibeh, a very close aide and friend to al-Baghdadi, cried and made repeated mistakes while doing a Friday prayers sermon in the town of Tal Afar West of Mosul city.
The sources who requested anonymity said that Baghdadi’s death was very likely, adding that Abu Qatibeh started suddenly crying while talking about Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
The sources said then Abu Qatibeh went silence for a while, and then he read several verses of the holy Quran and made several mistakes in his sermon.
Al-Sumeriyeh went on to say that the Friday Prayers leader did not directly point to the death of al-Baghdadi but the sermon of Abu Qatibeh that had special position in the ISIL terrorist organization could be considered as an early pointing to al-Baghdadi’s death.
The sources told al-Sumeriyeh that news about Abu Qatibeh’s sermon spread across Tal Afar.
