Bulgaria to extradite Dutch woman who wanted to join ISIS terrorist group in Syria
A Bulgarian court on Tuesday ordered the extradition of a Dutch woman suspected of trying to join the Islamic State group in Syria last month, AFP reports.The 33-year-old woman was detained on a European arrest warrant upon entering Bulgaria through a border checkpoint with Turkey on December 21.
She is wanted by the prosecution in the Dutch city of Eindhoven after police found a handwritten letter at her home saying that she was leaving to join the IS in Syria.
A Turkish patrol intercepted the suspect and turned her back before she could cross into Syria, according to the court in the southern town of Haskovo. The woman on Tuesday confirmed her consent to be extradited.
