Biden sees Hamas as ‘only obstacle’ to Gaza ceasefire deal

US President Joe Biden told Qatar’s emir Monday that Hamas is the only obstacle to a Gaza ceasefire deal with Israel, and urged him to press the militant group to accept it, the White House said.

Biden “affirmed that Hamas is now the only obstacle to a complete ceasefire” and “confirmed Israel’s readiness to move forward” with the terms he set out last week, the White House said in a readout of a call between the two leaders.
