Azerbaijani and Uzbekistan suspects detained in Turkey for terrorism – both are listed as suicide bombers in ISIS organization
Turkish authorities detained in Istanbul on Tuesday two men of Uzbek and Tajik origin, that allegedly intended to participate in the attacks carried out by Daesh terrorist group as suicide bombers, a police source told Sputnik, APA reports quoting Yeni Safak newspaper.
According to Yeni Safak newspaper, another Uzbekistan citizen and a citizen of Azerbaijan have also been detained and are set to be deported from Turkey.
“Counter-terrorism police have arrested two terrorists that belong to Daesh group, one is Uzbek and the other is Tajik after receiving intelligence information that they have enlisted their names on the list of suicide bombers in Daesh,” the source told Sputnik.
In late August, Turkish Interior Minister Efkan Alahe announced that Turkish authorities detained 5,803 people on suspicion of having links to Daesh terrorist group since the start of the conflict in Syria, while 52,075 people were prohibited from entering the country.
