Turkish police authorities detained 12 ISIS terrorist suspects in Ankara
Turkish police detained 12 suspects in Ankara as part of an investigation on the ISIS militant group, China´s Xinhua news agency reported on Monday.
The Counter Terrorism Unit detained the 12 suspects after the Ankara prosecutors’ office issued detention warrants for 20 suspects, it said quoting state-run Anadolu news agency.
The report said all the suspects are foreigners but did not provide detail on their nationalities.
The US embassy in Ankara closed on Monday due to an unspecified security threat.
Turkey witnessed several bloody attacks blamed on ISIS militants since 2015. Turkish police have intensified the operation against ISIS cells across the country.
