Australian man charged with litany of worrying terrorism charges
An Australian man has been charged with multiple terrorism-related offences after a joint investigation involving the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation along with South Australian and federal police.
The 24-year-old was previously charged with 10 firearms-related offences but has now been hit with a litany of other charges.
The Adelaide man has been charged with 10 counts of possessing information for terrorist acts and 11 counts of possessing instructions to make an explosive device.
He has been remanded in custody to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court in March 2022.
AFP Assistant Commissioner Counter Terrorism Scott Lee said it was alleged the man possessed weapons and had instructions for the manufacture of explosive devices.
However, police said there had been no specific threat to community safety identified during the investigation.
