At least five Iraqi forces killed in the latest Islamic State attack
Islamic State (IS) jihadists attacked a joint military position for the Iraqi army and Iranian-backed Shia militias of Hashd al-Shaabi, killing at least five troops and militiamen.
The attack took place in an area north of Tikrit, Salahaddin province, a security source confirmed.
Fatalities on IS side were not reported.
Elsewhere near Sharaban district of Diyala province, a bomb blast targeted the Iraqi forces in the area, which caused no damage or casualties.
