At least fifteen injured after vehicle runs into benches at Bat Yam cafe
A car drove into a restaurant in Bat Yam Thursday morning, injuring 13 people, including one of whom in serious condition, as well as others in moderate condition.
The crash occurred at a restaurant on Rothschild Street in Bat Yam, a city close to Tel Aviv, which is typically busy during business hours.
“When we arrived at the scene there was a big commotion. The vehicle was up on the sidewalk and had hit several tables.” said one Magen David Adom MDA paremedic.
“A 60-year-old woman was lying on the sidewalk unconscious and with severe multiple injuries. The driver of the vehicle was sitting in the car while he was conscious and moderately injured and other lightly injured people were walking around the scene.”
The injured were attended to by MDA paramedics on scene before being evacuated to Wolfson Medical Center in the adjacent city of Holon.
