At least 62 ISIS terrorists including Pakistani and Turkish nationals surrender to Afghan forces
A group of 62 ISIS militants including Pakistani and Turkish nationals surrendered to Afghan forces in eastern Nangarhar province.
The local officials said the militants, including 30 Pakistanis and 2 Turkish nationals surrendered to Afghan forces in Achin district of Nangarhar.
Tamim Arif Momand, the deputy provincial governor of Nangarhar said the militants surrendered amid ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
Momand furhter added that ISIS militants have lost capability to resist the Afghan forces.
Sulaiman, one of the militants of ISIS said he joined the terror group in Afghanistan five years ago and participated in several fights.
The militants also handed over several weapons including Ak-47s, PKMs, pistols and munitions, the provincial government added in its statement.
This comes as the ministry of defense had earlier announced that more than 600 ISIS militants and their family members have surrendered to Afghan forces during the recent weeks.
