At least 29 bodies found in mass grave after being abducted by Islamic State

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights suggested that the bodies were killed by the terrorist organization Daesh during its control of the area.

“At least 29 bodies, including a woman and two children, were found in a mass grave,” said a source from the Manbij Council, which manages the city in Aleppo governorate. The source preferred to remain anonymous.

Some of the skeletons were found in handcuffs. The observatory suggested that the bodies belonged to “people who were kidnapped and arrested by the organization after it took control of the city.”

The cemetery is located near a hotel in the center of Manbij, which the terrorist organization had turned into a prison during its control of the city between 2014 and 2016.

The cemetery was found while municipal workers were conducting sewage treatment near the hotel on Wednesday, July 27.
