Another ISIS mass grave of Yezidis found in Sinjar
A mass grave of the Kurdish Yezidis massacred by the Islamic State (IS) was unearthed in Sinjar, the Yezidi majority town in Nineveh Plain.
Qasim Darbo, Commander of Peshmerga Operations in Sinjar, told BasNews “Another mass grave was discovered by a shepherd near the Peshmerga bases in Hatima village in Sinjar.”
The grave contains seven victims of the IS genocidal crimes against the Yezidis in 2014 in Sinjar, he said.
The grave seems to contain an entire Kurdish Yezidi family since the victims are men, women and children.
Another mass grave of Yezidi victims was found a few days ago. So far, nearly 40 mass graves of Yezidis have been discovered, believed to contain over a thousand bodies of Yezidis.
The IS militants attacked the Yezidi hometown on August 3, 2014, killing hundreds of men and abducting over six thousand women and children, three thousand of whom are still in the grip of the extremists in Iraq and Syria.
