Al-Qaeda terrorists in Yemen’s Abyan demand $5m in exchange for release of UN officials
On Saturday, media sources reported that local mediation failed for the second time to release UN officials kidnapped by members of the so-called Takfiri organization since last Friday in the occupied Abyan governorate of Yemen.
They explained that the Takfiri groups involved in the kidnapping of UN officials demanded that the ransom be raised to 5 million dollars in exchange for the releasing them.
According to the sources, the local mediation had offered half a million Saudi riyals to the kidnappers, before regional parties intervened to raise the amount to one million dollars.
About a week ago, the militants of the so-called al-Qaeda backed by the countries of the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression have detained 5 United Nations employees working in Aden, including the director of the Security and Safety Office, after their convoy was intercepted in the occupied Abyan governorate, and they were transferred to the strongholds of the Takfiri organization in one of the mountains in the governorate.
