Al-Qaeda, Haqqani Network and Taliban terrorists battered across Afghanistan
Dozens of Taliban fighters have been killed in operations by Afghan National Defense and security forces in several provinces, the Ministry of Defense stated on Wednesday.
MoD stated that 74 Taliban fighters had been killed and 38 others wounded in the past 24 hours as a result of operations conducted by ANDSF.
According to MoD, the operations were launched in Laghman, Ghazni, Maidan Wardak, Helmand, Badakhshan, Balkh, and Kandahar provinces.
The ministry also said that commando forces backed by Afghan Air Force attacked a Taliban militant gathering in the village of Sargardan in the Hesarak district of Nangarhar on Wednesday night.
According to the statement, three Taliban insurgents were killed and four others were wounded during the operation.
On the other hand, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said that in a special operation of NDS forces in Khost province, 17 Haqqani network affiliates including a senior commander of the group named Sabil Hamidi were killed.
The NDS special operatives also seized number of weapons and ammunition during the mission.
The operation was carried out at the request of the local residents for self and regional security matters.
Meanwhile, NDS stated on Tuesday that Key member of the Al-Qaeda network and a high-ranking Taliban commander were eliminated during an operation in the Giyam district of Paktika province.
During the operation, NDS’ special forces targeted and eliminated both the high-profile commanders in the Gilan district of Paktika province, the statement read.
According to the statement, Dawlat Bek Tajki, known as Abu Mohammad Al-Tajiki a key member of the Al-Qaeda network for the Indian subcontinent, and Hazrat Ali, known as Hamza a Waziristan resident and commander of the Taliban group were killed during the NDS operations, both high ranked militants were involved in plotting complicated attacks in the region.
Both of the eliminated individuals had deep connections between the Al-Qaeda network and Taliban “Terrorist” groups and were responsible for financing and equipping Taliban “Terrorist group” in Ghazni and Zabul provinces, the statement said.
This comes as Nazar Ali Wahidi, the deputy head of National Directorate of Security on Tuesday said that Pakistan’s intelligence agency (ISI) has summoned the Taliban’s shadow governors and commander to plan and wage war in Afghanistan, media reported.
The Taliban officials were summoned to Peshawar for preparing plans for the spring offensives and waging war in Afghanistan, the NDS deputy head indicated.
He also expressed that Afghan national and security forces are fully prepared to crush any hostile move if the peace process results in failure.
Wahidi wished that “Pakistan was kind and would help Afghanistan reach peace and move towards development”, but the country always thinks of how to destroy and kill afghans in any way possible.
He added that they made preparations for war and said we are also ready to battle the dark storm of extremism.
Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior Affairs both said, there are credible intelligence reports that indicate the militants are planning to take over provincial capitals.
Afghanistan’s enemies are reportedly trying to launch new attacks to gain point in the political arena, and that there are threats all over Afghanistan but the security officials said the country is fully ready to crush the upcoming threats.
On Tuesday reports of clashes indicated that almost 20 provinces were evident to clashes between the Afghan government and opposing extremist militants including the Taliban.
