ATICO is a subsidiary of the Al-Ahmar Group of Companies. Hamid al-Ahmar is ATICO’s chairman and CEO.
Established in 1998, ATICO is Yemen‘s first company dedicated solely to marketing and developing international retail brands and franchises in the Yemeni market.
The Group represents some of the world’s most well known multinationals in the Yemeni market including Compaq, Consolidated Contractors International (CCC), Emirates Airlines, General Electric Company, Kone, Lahmyer, Motorola, Nokia, Oracle, Philips, Siemens, and Sabafon (Yemen’s first GSM Network provider). ATICO also represents Baskin Robbins, Bally of Switzerland, Ecco, The Nature Shop and Syed Junaid Alam.
ATICO is the major shareholder in the Yemen Food Company, sole franchisee for Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) in the Republic of Yemen. The group holds the Baskin Robbins and KFC franchises at least since 2003. [source]
