Seven anti-aircraft rockets fired from Gaza towards Israel overnight
Five of them towards the Israeli territory and two towards the sea in the Gaza Strip
Rocket sirens sounded in the Israeli territory bordering the Gaza Strip overnight, as seven anti-aircraft missiles were fired from the enclave, the Israeli military said on Thursday morning.
“Seven anti-aircraft rockets were fired and exploded in the air, five of them towards the Israeli territory and two towards the sea in the Gaza Strip,” the military spokesman said.
“No interceptors were activated according to policy,” he added.
Earlier on Thursday morning, reports of rocket sirens were received from several areas in the south of Israel close to the border with Gaza. On Wednesday evening, another rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip, landing in uninhabited area in the Eshkol regional council and causing no damage.
The previous night, 18 rockets were launched into Israeli territory from the enclave. No casualties were reported, but one rocket hit a factory building in the town of Sderot. In response the Israeli military attacked two Hamas sites used for weapons production and storage.
