19 suspects arrested in Kosovo for planning terrorist attacks – also against the Israeli national football team during Albania-Israel match
The Kosovo police have announced that they arrested 19 persons over the past ten days on suspicion they had connections with the Islamic State terrorist group.
“The police said the suspects were in contact with Islamic State member, self-declared commander of Albanians in Syria and Iraq Lavdrim Muhaxheri, from whom they received orders to attack,” Reuters has reported.
“They were planning to commit terrorist attacks in Kosovo and also against Israeli football team and their fans during the Albania-Israel match,” the Kosovo police said.
According to Reuters, “at least 200 people have been detained or investigated in Kosovo over their alleged links with IS state in recent years,” while 300 persons from Kosovo joined Islamic State in Syria, with more than 50 killed there.
